Reach Out

At NorthPark, we take seriously our charge from what has been called The Great Commission:
"Jesus said, 'Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always--even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

Therefore, we support and participate in missions efforts--from those in our town to those all around the world!

What is Family Promise?

Family Promise is part of the Interfaith Hospitality Network, a national program that mobilizes community faith groups to assist homeless families. Host congregations provide shelter, meals, and support services to families in need.

Host/Support Congregations:
The hosting of families rotates weekly among Host Congregations in the network. In turn, each congregation provides lodging, three meals a day, and caring hospitality 3-4 times a year. The Support Congregations provide volunteers and supplies.

Day Center: Guests use a local Day Center from 7:30am to 5:00pm where the Family Promise Network Director, a professional social worker, provides case management services. There, guests pursue employment, tend pre-school children, shower and do laundry. The day center provides guests with a mailing address and a base for housing and employment searches. Many guests are employed during the day while older children attend school.

Transportation: The Family Promise Network van transports guests to aand from the Day Center. The Network also uses a truck to carry beds and luggage to the next Host Congregation. The truck is also used to collect any donations made to the network.

Since the Network is a 501(c)3, the organization is financed through donations, grants and fundraising.

Social Service Agencies: Family Promise works in collaboration with other social service agencies. Local social service agencies refer families to the Network and may also help guests find or provide housing, jobs and other needed services.

Volunteers: Volunteers are essential to success and provide a wide range of services like cooking and serving meals, playing with children or helping them with homework, interacting with guests with respect and compassion, and providing overnight security. The Network's success depends on its volunteers.

How will it work at NorthPark? NorthPark will join 14 host Churches, one Synaogue and 10 Support Congregations to open the doors of our facilities--offering overnight shelter for several homeless families (Maximum of 14 people) for a one week stay. Families will check in on a Sunday evening and check out the following Sunday morning...moving on to another house of worship that evening. We will be offering 4 classrooms and the game room as a temporary home.

What we need now: We need "start-up" supplies: (New or Gently Used) Queen & Twin sheet sets, Queen & Twin washable blankets, hand towel/wash cloth sets, bedside table lamps, alarm clocks, an iron & ironing board, first aid kit, toys, books, games, crayons and coloring books. And Volunteers to sign up for hosting, providing meals, set-up assistance andd more!

Treasure Box

NorthPark Is Host Site For The "Treasure Box"

Here Is The Link To The Treasure Box site

Because of our desire to be a light for Jesus Christ in our valley, NorthPark is a Treasure Box distribution site.

NorthPark has become a Distribution Center where people can come to receive discounted food boxes each month. Each box contains enough food for a family of four for one week or a single person for one month. The boxes are $30 each but contain about $75-$100 worth of quality food items. We will be getting the word out to other churches and organizations in our community as well so they can partipate in the program. Click Here To Go To The NorthPark Treasure Box site to order your box of groceries. Questions? Contact or find them in Heritage Hall on Sunday.

Dan Elliot

Serving the lord as Western Balkan Regional Director In Muslim Albania with Campus Crusade for Christ. Campus Crusade Staff are involved in bringing the largest outreach campaign ever to take place amoung the Albanian people. In one two week period, he is trusting God to give all 1 million Albanians in the city of Tirana an opportunity to be ministered to. From Dan's latest e-mail:

"In order to accomplish this daunting task, the Albanian Campus Crusade for Christ together with the Albania Evangelical Alliance of Churches have designed a multifaceted outreach tailored to the different interests and stages of life represented by the inhabitants of Tirana. These strategies include:

Sports Outreach Activities: Every neighborhood will have a team of Christians who coordinates sports activities for children and adolescents. The program includes dramas and games that illustrate the truths of the gospel.

Activities for Children: Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is sponsoring several events and evangelistic materials for children.

Community Service Projects: Many churches are preparing community service projects like blood drives, neighborhood cleanup campaigns, graffiti removal, free car washes, park improvements, school house repairs, etc., as a way of demonstrating the love of Christ.

Jesus Film for Families: This is a special version of the Jesus film designed especially for families with young children.

Family Activities: The campaign will have several "family festivals" and concerts for entire families to enjoy.

Protocol Dinners: These are special evangelistic dinners aimed at specific community leaders like policemen, businessmen, politicians, school officials, doctors, lawyers, etc.

As you can see, there will be a LOT going on. Again, the hope is that believers will be able to both show and share the good news of God's love for every person in Tirana. Please pray with us, that God will move in the hearts of the thousands of Albanians who will have an opportunity to know Christ in a personal way this summer!"
